How often to clean Dafi filter pitcher

Dafi filter pitchers purify tap water. Despite of the ealier process of water treatment in waterworks, it may contain chlorine and even heavy metals such as lead and copper. The outdated installation transporting water to our homes can be a habitat of rust that gets into the water. Also, Dafi filters improve the taste of water. Water deprived of the smell of chlorine and its derivatives, it also becomes clearer, and coffee or tea prepared on its basis has a better taste. Unlike other filters, Dafi filters do not demineralize water.

How to care about a filter pitcher

The effectiveness of exchanged filters is about 150-200 l of water. After getting this amount of filtered water or after 30 days of its use a filter should be exchanged. A pitcher that we use should be kept in cleanliness. We should wash it regularly. Every exchange of the filter should be preceded by its thoroughly cleaning. A pitcher consists of 2 main elements ( theses are: a container for tap water and a container for filtered water) that we can wash in a dishwasher or under running water with dish soap. If we have a pitcher with a Led cover or a Led indicator we should wash it gently by hand to avoid it being completely flooded.

If on the pitcher’s cover there is a coating from hard water, it can be removed with water with the addition of vinegar or citric acid. Frequent washing of the cover with dish soap should prevent this dirt. Additionaly, wet and exposed environmnet can favour the formation and development of algae. Therefore, if you notice a green coating on the bottom of your pitcher, be sure to wash it, and store the pitcher in the fridge or in a shady place during use.
